Bars and restaurants on the rooftops of Bangkok. The best views of Bangkok! Sky bar Vertigo and Moon bar: where it is and how to get there

What is presented to our brother as Bangkok, the Thais call Krung Thep or “city of angels”. This resilient nation has its own risk-taking traits - and it's not just riding motorcycle taxis during rush hour. If the desire for a snack or drink occurs after the clock has struck midnight, you need to look up. The roofs of the local skyscrapers do not sit idle: why not place a bar, restaurant, lounge cafe or dance floor?

Moon Bar Banyan Tree Bangkok
Purpose: Stargazing
Address: 21/100 South Sathon Road
Phone: +66 2 679 1200 or 1800 050 019 (toll free)

At the Moon Bar on the 60th floor you can stop by for a glass of wine and at the same time look at the stars through the telescope installed inside. The bar is open from 17.00-1.00 and is one of the most romantic places in Bangkok. The appearance of visitors here is criticized: they do not like men in sandals and shorts; women in open T-shirts may be offered a scarf to cover their shoulders. If the dress code situation seems too manic, you can go down 9 floors. Latitude Lounge & Bar is open during the same hours, and guests' clothing is more relaxed here.

Sky Bar and Breeze
Purpose: Cocktails at sunset
Address: 1055 Silom Road
Phone: +66 2 624 9999

A glimpse of Bangkok's rooftop life would be incomplete without visiting the restaurants and bars at Lebua Hotel's dome on Silom Road. The most famous place there is Sirocco, located on the 63rd floor and considered the highest restaurant space in the world. The Sky Bar is also located on the same floor. From here you have gorgeous views of the city at night (the bar is open until one in the morning) and the Chao Phraya River. However, the lack of advance reservations does not guarantee a good evening. If you couldn’t get there from the Sky Bar and have no objections to sea reptiles, you can head to the nearby Breeze.

It is worth knowing that when entering the Lebois Tower there is a strict dress code: men must wear closed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops, no matter how Italian and expensive they may be. The style police catch violators at the elevators and send them to the boring bar in the lobby.

The Long Table
Purpose: Bond Chic
Address: 48 Column Tower, Sukhumvit Soi 16,
Phone: +66 2 3022 5579

The most original thing about the Long Table is its namesake, a long, low table with 70 seats. It crosses horizontally the entire space of the restaurant and bar, which protrudes from the building at the 25th floor level. The rest of the interior is all glossy white leather and low glass tables. At such a table, with your legs tucked, you want to wrap your arms around a glass of ice-cold mojito and share your impressions of the past day. Wine rooms seem to be dotted around every corner and are often empty. For those who are uncomfortable conducting solo dialogues in an empty space, it is better to choose a table on the veranda. You just need to book it in advance, they are in a desperate rush here.

Bar-B-Q Corner
Purpose: Budget river view
Address: Level 5, River City Complex, 23 Trok Rongnamkhaeng, Silom
Phone: +66 2 236 4535

The mall has a regular food court, but it's best to look up while browsing the antique shops. From the rooftop of River City Mall, you can watch the heavy traffic on the brown water of the Chao Phraya River while sitting in the garden and turning over a hunk of meat on your personal tabletop grill.

Red Sky , Centara Grand at Central World
Purpose: For meat and martini lovers
Address: 999/99 Rama 1 Road, Pathumwan
Phone: +66 2 100 1234

Red Sky is a semi-outdoor restaurant with jazz pianists on the 55th floor. Local Canadian chef Aaron Foster has a reputation as a crazy dreamer for his experiments with European menus. Among the masterpieces (by the way, prepared in a vacuum) you can find ravioli with wild boar meat, tuna tartare, and pork belly with tamarind. The open-air bar is open from 17.00-1.00.

Food Loft @ Central
Purpose: Cheap and cheerful
Address: Level 7, Central Chidlom, 1027 Ploenchit Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan
Phone: +66 2 793 7070

Calling this place a food court takes the essence of food courts all over the world to the next level. Food Loft @ Central is a budget place in the attic of the seven-story Central Chidlom with a great view and delicious food. There are Japanese, Indian, halal and vegetarian stands at your disposal, as well as a department with juices and desserts. At the entrance you need to take a card on which the cost of the selected dishes will be recorded, at the exit the cashier calculates the total amount. Opening hours 10.00-22.00, alcohol is not sold until five in the evening.

Zense
Destination: Sunset in Glamor
Address: Level 17, 4/5 Rama I Road, Pathumwan
Phone: 66 2 100 9898

The bar is located on the roof of the 17-story Zen department store. A visit here is not for nothing; you only have to put on some shine to fall face down in the dirt. Obviously, the dominance of boutiques on the lower floors explains the fact that the bar's audience often consists of starlets and well-groomed Europeans, and Bangkok celebrities have made Zense their second home. The panoramic view of the bar is 360 degrees and leaves a strong impression at sunset. It’s better to get here using the glass elevator inside the store (open until 10 p.m.); the bar itself is open from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.

Additional places:

In Bangkok, some buildings have bars or restaurants on the rooftops. We visited one of the popular rooftop bars in Bangkok on the 61st floor one January evening :)

At the rooftop bar on the 61st floor

Popular rooftop bars in Bangkok

  • Sky bar at Lubua Hotel- a fashionable and pretentious bar on the roof of the Lebua at State Tower hotel on the 63rd floor. The movie "The Hangover in Bangkok" was filmed here.
  • – rooftop bar at the Banyan Tree Hotel on the 61st floor.
  • Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar– bar on the 45th floor on the roof of the Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit
  • Above Eleven- a popular bar on the 33rd floor with good food and delicious cocktails
  • You can also mention the bar in, but the bar there is closed, i.e. is located indoors, and not on the street, unlike the above bars. And, of course, one of which is located on the 81st floor and also has an open terrace.
  • They opened at the end of 2018 - at the moment it is the highest sky bar in Bangkok :)

P.S. Who knows any other cool rooftop bars in Bangkok, please share!

I’ve been wanting to go to the Cloud 47 Rooftop bar in Bangkok for a long time, but somehow things didn’t work out: Lesha was sick with Dengue, and we were already planning to go to this bar, but I decided to go to their Facebook page to find out how to get to them, and saw an announcement that on this particular day the bar was closed for corporate service! What bad luck! 🙁

Therefore, I had to change plans and go to a more expensive and more pretentious rooftop bar in Bangkok - Vertigo and Moon bar.

Sky bar Vertigo and Moon bar: description

Vertigo and Moon bar is located on the roof of the Banyan Tree Hotel on the 61st floor. Most of the roof is occupied by a restaurant, and a smaller part by a bar. In the center of the bar there is a round bar counter with high chairs, and along the perimeter there are small low tables.

There are a lot of people in the bar; most people come here not to drink something, but for the fantastic panorama of the city. Therefore, everyone moves around a small area with cameras and cameras, creating excitement and crowds :)

Pleasant music plays softly. Sometimes parties are held in the bar.

We go up to the roof and find ourselves in the restaurant. The bar is a little higher up where the crowd of people is :)
In the middle of the bar there is a bar counter with high stools. According to the idea, there should be a good view from the bar in all directions
People near the bar
Low tables around the perimeter
Children are sitting with their heads buried in tablets :) There were several families with children in the bar. The children were very quiet!

Bar and restaurant opening hours

Sky bar Vertigo and Moon is open from 17:00 to 01:00.

You cannot reserve a table at the bar! I advise you to arrive early, around 17:00, to get the best seats and enjoy the sunset. We arrived at 17:35, there were already a lot of people. We took the second to last free table. And after about 15 minutes people began to arrive and arrive, there was nowhere to sit, so they stood with drinks and waited for a seat to become available.

The Vertigo restaurant is open from 6:00 to 22:30. For dinner, you must reserve a table in advance! There were a lot of people, all the tables were occupied!

Dress code

To get into the restaurant and rooftop bar, you must follow a dress code. The most important rule is not to come in beachwear or flip-flops! The rules for visiting the bar say that men must wear shirts, but now they are also allowed to wear polo-type T-shirts. Yes, and men are allowed in wearing sneakers, otherwise I was afraid that Lesha wouldn’t be allowed in. It’s funny: a family with children was sitting next to us, and a boy of about 7 years old was wearing closed winter boots :) Apparently people came on vacation and there were no other closed shoes :)

I didn’t see anyone in evening dresses or high heels in the bar; they say that at Sky bar Lubua most of the visitors are in evening dresses. In Vertigo and Moon, regular clothes in a casual style are enough. Towards evening, people began to arrive in office clothes, suits and jackets.

Rooftop bar in Bangkok. Our review

Despite the fact that we have been to the Baiyock Sky bar and restaurants more than once, visiting the rooftop bar on the 61st floor left an indelible impression.

Beautiful and well-dressed people, excellent service, good music, magnificent views of the city from the bar left only positive emotions. I advise you to come before sunset to grab a comfortable table and catch the most beautiful time of the day, to see how Bangkok changes with the onset of darkness.

We ordered a cocktail: Mahito and Pina Colada. To be honest, the cocktails were disgusting 🙁 It’s better to take a beer or a glass of martini!

By the way, just below the bar near the toilet (ha ha :) you can take good photos without crowds of people :)

We took a table, made an order and immediately ran to take pictures before it got dark :)

Sky bar Vertigo and Moon bar: where it is and how to get there

The Sky Bar is located on the roof of the Banyan Tree Hotel. By the way, the hotel is very nice and not that expensive by Bangkok standards, it’s quite possible to stay here for a few nights. I wrote about choosing a hotel in Bangkok in.

The nearest MRT Lumphini underground station and Sala Daeng above-ground BTS station. Of course, the easiest way to get to the bar is by taxi, but at five to seven in the evening there are wild traffic jams in Bangkok, so we took the BTS and walked from the metro station to the hotel for about a kilometer (you can go by taxi-bike).

Here in that tall building on the roof is Vertigo and Moon bar
You need to go into the building that the arrow in the photo points to.

We enter the Thai Wah Plaza building and walk along a long corridor to the entrance to the Banyan Tree Hotel. Inside, follow the signs to the elevator and go to the 59th floor. There we go through face control and go up the narrow stairs to the restaurant on the roof. We pass through the restaurant to the bar. Have a nice holiday!

After leaving the elevator on the 59th floor, we check for compliance with the dress code and go up the stairs to the bar
On the way to the bar :)

The most amazing romantic meetings and interesting parties in Bangkok take place in one of the capital's bars, located on the roof of a skyscraper. Absolutely everyone will find a place to their liking. Some bars attract people with noisy music and exciting parties. Others are greeted with a calm atmosphere in which you can relax with a glass of your favorite drink. Each bar amazes with panoramic views, neon lights, and a magnificent interior that make your stay even more interesting and unforgettable.

The Sky Bar is located on the 64th floor of the second tallest building in the Thai capital. It is located in the StateTower, you can recognize it by its golden dome. This place became famous due to the film “Bachelor Party 2”, scenes of which were filmed on the roof of the building.

The round bar counter changes lighting every couple of minutes. The bar is often visited by celebrities or fans of jazz music. This is one of the best places in Bangkok to enjoy live jazz. In addition to the rooftop bar, there is a restaurant, a dance floor, and a separate smoking area.

Here you can taste delicious Persian caviar and oysters. And all this combined with beautiful views of the city at night and the Chao Phraya River. The bar opens its doors at 5 pm and is open until 01:00. Prices for food and drinks in the bar cannot be considered the cheapest, but time spent here will give you an unforgettable experience.

Vertigo and Moon bar

This bar is located on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel. The main part of the roof is occupied by a restaurant, and only a small part of it contains a cozy bar. A round bar counter is installed in the very center; for the convenience of visitors, it is complemented by high bar stools. Tables are available for those who wish to enjoy a more private setting.

The bar is never empty. Most of its visitors are true romantics, whose main goal is to find places with incredibly beautiful panoramic views. Tables are not booked in advance here. I recommend arriving by 5pm to enjoy the sunset. There is a restaurant nearby. The cost of coffee starts from 260 baht, juice - from 300 baht, beer - from 290 baht, alcoholic cocktails - from 580 baht.

The rooftop bar

- This is the tallest building in Bangkok, on the upper floors of which there is a famous rotating observation deck. This is a kind of visiting card of the capital. Every visitor to the city strives to visit here. The rooftop bar, located on the 83rd floor of the Bayoke Sky Tower, will help brighten up your stay on the observation deck. It can be visited by both hotel guests and ordinary tourists.

The bar opens after 5 pm and receives its visitors until 2:00. The pricing policy here is very attractive. So the cost of an alcoholic cocktail varies between 150 baht. Finding Baiyock Sky will not be difficult, since the building is located in the very heart of the capital.

Bar Three Sixty

Jazz music, a cozy atmosphere and unforgettable views await you at the Three Sixty bar. The main audience is couples in love, as well as lovers of romance. The tables in the bar area are arranged very well. Due to the advantageous combination, visitors can enjoy a private conversation.

You can find this bar on the top floor of the Millennium Hilton hotel. This is where you can taste the signature Mojito cocktail made from real Cuban rum.

A dress code has been introduced for visiting the bar: you cannot wear too revealing or beachy outfits. The prices in the bar cannot be considered the lowest, but at the same time anyone can visit it. The average price for cocktails is 300-350 baht.

Bar Octave

None of Bangkok's many bars can compare to Octave, which provides a 360-degree view of the city. The bar consists of three levels, the first of which originates on the 45th floor of the Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit Hotel. The last level is the highest place in the capital for parties.

The lowest tier creates an environment for dinners or friendly gatherings in a large company. Prices may vary. The cost of cocktails starts from 320 baht, local beer - from 170 baht. As for food at the bar, you can only order light snacks here, which will be the perfect complement to any drink. Popular music is always playing on the top floor, and drinks in the style of Tom Cruise are served on the round bar.

Red Sky Bar

Red Sky Bar is one of the newest in Bangkok. It is located on the 55th floor of the Centara Grand Hotel. There are several popular shopping centers nearby, allowing you to combine shopping with relaxation in Red Sky. The bar offers an observation deck with magnificent views of the capital's embankment. Its territory is relatively small. For romantics, there are sofas with sunset views.

In parallel with the bar, there is a gourmet restaurant where you can order only the best dishes of European cuisine. As for drinks, their choice is so wide that it can surprise even true connoisseurs of quality alcohol. The prices cannot be considered cheap, but the atmosphere that will accompany your vacation is worth any money.

Balco Bar

An equally popular bar is Balko. Geographically, it occupies part of the 5th floor in the River City shopping complex. Its tables are positioned so that visitors can admire the view of the Chao Phraya River.

Unlike other similar establishments, Balko begins to receive its guests from 7 pm. There is no dress code here and there is always a friendly atmosphere. The prices in the bar are very attractive; absolutely everyone can afford to relax there. Taking into account your preferences, the bartender will prepare any cocktail, even if you cannot find it on the menu.

Blue sky bar

The elegantly designed Blue Sky Bar is located in the northern part of Bangkok, on the top floor of the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok. Its territory offers views of Chatuchak Park and the city center. Cocktails of any taste, color and composition will be an excellent complement to the panoramic views. The bar's signature cocktail is its eponymous Bluesky. The average cost of these drinks varies between 300-350 baht.

For those who get hungry, there is a restaurant that is ready to offer only the best dishes from the most popular cuisines of the world. The bar got its name thanks to the abundant blue neon lighting. You can visit the establishment from 6 pm to 2 am.

Park Society Bar

A cozy atmosphere, a large selection of drinks, and panoramic views of Bangkok are guaranteed when you relax at the Park Society Bar. It is located on the 29th floor of the Sofitel So Bangkok. SpeakEasy at the Muse Hotel

The bar is perfect for fans of jazz music and classical interiors. This establishment is usually visited by those who like experimenting with alcohol or those eager to find out what our ancestors drank. After all, cocktails are prepared here that our great-great-grandfathers loved at the beginning of the last century. The bar has numerous rooms, including a cigar room.

Bangkok, rooftop, bar - three words that delight my ears. I’m not much of a walking person, but sometimes sitting in a cozy little bar is a nice thing! And then the traveler-mother came in handy and, having stopped at , having rested after the visit and dressed up for the evening promenade, we went for a stroll through the evening Bangkok to a rooftop bar with a pleasant-to-hear name Cloud47.

I must say that Sky bars in Bangkok are a very common phenomenon and for me personally especially attractive. What can we say if, sitting on the terrace in some food court, which is higher than the second floor, I am already bursting with all kinds of smiles. Bars and Restaurants on the roofs of Bangkok are a completely separate conversation: I, an urban specimen of our era, am ready to revel in endless views.

Visiting a rooftop bar is generally the duty of any tourist in Bangkok, in my opinion. Doesn't your heart skip a beat when you see the city from a high floor? What if this city is also Bangkok? And if at this moment you also taste food and drinks? My mother is a complete aficionado of megacities, but taking pictures against the backdrop of views of the capital of Thailand, washing down her delight with cold beer in the hot twilight, was something she really liked.

We arrived at Cloud47 before dark, around 5 pm, thus catching all the charm of Bangkok both in the light of day and in the lights of night. The bar was empty, we didn't reserve a table because... the trip to Bangkok was quite spontaneous. And, since we didn’t plan to spend the whole evening here, we didn’t need a table reservation: the bulk of visitors gather here after 20-21 hours. At this point, live music starts playing, the evening club lights turn on and the fun begins. Over there he starts playing, behind me)

Evening lighting, in fact, looks something like this, only better, especially if you don’t take pictures with my dying phone)

For me, the goal was to show my mother Bangkok from above, sit, gossip over a glass of cold beer, have a tasty snack, look at the foreign world, take photos and stroll to the cozy hotel room waiting for us. Everything was done!

Cloud47 is one of the budget and simple rooftop bars in Bangkok. And we, tired tourists, did not really want, observing the dress code, to go, gathering our last strength, to a more elite place. Everything should be possible) However, the budget (comparative, of course) of this place did not in any way affect the quality of service and the deliciousness of the food served, and certainly did not affect our impressions.

You can wander into this sky bar on the roof of Bangkok quite by accident, wandering through the streets of the city, grab a glass of cold beer and sit quietly, think about your future plans, or just let your thoughts rest, aesthetically pleasing your eyes with the views that open up. No one will look sideways, blaming you for being stingy and not hungry!

Prices in Cloud47 quite affordable for a rooftop bar in Bangkok. So, a liter of Asahi beer cost us 300 baht. Bottled beer - from 160 baht. Prices for hot dishes and snacks are also not very high and start from 100-120 baht. The average cost of a dish is about 300 baht.

And here they bring the glasses in the frost, very aesthetically pleasing, it should be noted! As a child, I always enjoy such little things)

Bar Cloud47: how to get there
