North Wind Boeing 737 seat layout. Airbus A321 Nord Wind - cabin layout and best seats. Choosing the best place

Every year the number of passenger air travel is steadily growing and, as a result, the popularity of large and capacious aircraft of the Boeing “three-seven” series is increasing. The Boeing 777 holds the record for board size (among passenger aircraft) and flight range.

Liner device

The Boeing 777 is a wide-body aircraft with two engines and a turbofan (efficient and economical) engine. The wings of the airliner are located low relative to the body (low wing). The shape of the wing resembles an arrow (swept shape).

The hull and some elements of the aircraft (the floor in the cabin, the rudder in the cockpit, and others) consist of almost 10% of special alloys and materials, which affects both the strength and the overall weight of the aircraft. Boeing landing gear consists of 6 wheels.

The aircraft is fully equipped with a digital remote control system on a par with conventional steering wheels. The Boeing 777 was the first to use innovative technologies for convenience and comfort: a video screen mounted in the back of the seat, an electronic flight log. For the convenience of passengers, the size of the shelves has been increased.

For a comfortable long flight for the crew on the 777, a rest room with comfortable chairs and sleeping places was added above the head cabin.

The developers also did not ignore the aesthetic component: smooth lines of the interior, diffused light, large windows.

Main modifications of the aircraft and their features

Two indicators for comparison - aircraft length and flight range - allow us to distinguish several models in the Boeing 777 series. The Boeing 777-200 is considered the reference model, and the 777-300 is its modified extended version, which can accommodate up to 550 air passengers.

The difference between the 777-200 types lies in the flight duration parameters. The very first version of the 777-200 covered distances of more than 8 thousand km and was intended for domestic transportation in the United States. In 1995, work began on its modification. In simple terms, we needed an aircraft capable of even longer flights.

Additional letters ER mean " extendedrange"- increased range, 777-200 flies at a distance of 12 to 14 thousand km. It differs from the original version in that the aircraft's fuel capacity and take-off weight have been increased. The 777-200ER is designed for international flights, flights across the Atlantic. This model of the airliner has become the most popular passenger aircraft.

Additional letters LR mean " longerrange» – long range. The aircraft is capable of flights of more than 14 thousand km, and can “connect two opposite points” on the globe (Dallas - Tokyo, Singapore - Los Angeles). Boeing set a famous record for the longest flight distance (without landing) among passenger airliners, the 777-200LR flew more than 17 thousand km (17370 km).

It differs from previous versions by even greater take-off weight and three additional fuel tanks. The appearance is also slightly modified, with slightly more raked wings, reinforced landing gear and a powerful airframe.

Comparative characteristics of Boeing 777-200 models

Cabin layout 777-200

The interior layout depends on two parameters:

  • configuration (position) and number of seats in the cabin
  • number of classes

The seats are arranged in rows, the number of which varies depending on the cabin configuration, from 43 to 62. The number of seats in a row also varies from 4 to 10. The fewer seats in a row, the more prestigious the class. The number of seats in the cabin ranges from 306 to 550 The arrangement of seats, kitchen and toilets is very diverse, and the layout of the cabin itself makes it possible, if necessary (or at will), to rearrange passenger seats and other elements.

The standard division into classes throughout the world involves 3 levels:

  • first
  • business
  • economy

But many airlines have their own categories. For example:

  • imperial, as a subspecies (or replacement) of the first,
  • premium or premium, somewhere it belongs to business class, and somewhere to economy class,
  • tourist, as a subtype of economy class.

As a rule, 777-200 aircraft have cabins with 2 or 3 classes, but in some cases there are 1 (440 seats) and 4.

Boeing 777-200 with 2 cabin classes

These are the classes:

  • business
  • economy

The level of high comfort - business class - is located in the front part of the aircraft. The chairs at this level are located at a sufficient distance from each other, this allows you to recline the back, stretch your legs or place them on a special stand. On an aircraft with 306, 314 or 396 seats, business class is small, with only 6 to 10 seats in a 2-2-2 or 2-3-2 configuration, arranged either in rows or in a checkerboard pattern.

Economy class takes up most of the cabin. The seats are arranged differently depending on the aircraft: 2-5-2, 3-4-3 and 3-3-3. The distance between the seats is significantly smaller than in business class, which is especially inconvenient for tall people. The small distance between the seats does not allow you to recline the back, but only slightly tilt it (45 degrees).

Toilets are located in the central and aft sections of the cabin.

Boeing 777-200 with 3 cabin classes

These are the classes:

  • first (or luxury class, or imperial)
  • Business Class
  • economy

Sometimes there is a configuration of three classes: business, economy and tourist. In terms of quantity it comes out to 3, but in fact this is an aircraft with two classes of comfort: business and economy.

In the bow of the aircraft there is the best elite class - first or premium. Number of seats from 6 to 16, in 1-2-1 or 2-2-2 configurations. The chairs are more like mini-sofas, large, comfortable with reclining backs. This class has a separate toilet and its own kitchen.

Business class is more spacious (up to 42 seats) compared to the previous layout, but, in general, it is no different in terms of comfort. This classroom also has a separate toilet and kitchen.

In the center and tail of the plane is the remaining economy class, with an average of 180 seats. All characteristics of economy class are the same, regardless of the interior modification.

Boeing 777-200 with 4 cabin classes

These are the classes:

  • first
  • Business Class
  • economy
  • tourist

A distinctive feature of this form of layout is the division of economy class into two types: economy class itself and tourist class. They are no different in terms of seat layout or comfort level. The only thing: economy class is located in the center, and tourist class is at the rear of the plane.

The rows in the aircraft cabin are designated by Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3 ... 43), and the seats are designated by Latin letters (A, B, C ... K, L)

Pros and cons of seating arrangement, choosing a seat when purchasing a ticket

When choosing a seat, most passengers are guided by criteria such as:

  • class and level of comfort, and, consequently, ticket price
  • row, its proximity or distance to partitions and toilet
  • location in a row (in the center, near the aisle, closer to the window, etc.)

The most comfortable seats, but also the most expensive, are first and business class seats. The only downside of these seats is their cost. Accordingly, the more advantages according to the listed criteria, the more comfortable the flight. And vice versa.

At the very beginning of economy class, immediately after business class, there are partitions; they are always indicated on the layout diagram. Here, as a rule, there are toilets. And both factors make the first row of economy seats extremely uncomfortable.

Economy class is divided either into two parts (center and tail) or into tourist class. Between them is an emergency exit, or a partition, or a toilet, which in each case brings its own inconvenience to the last row of the central part of the aircraft.

But the first row of the tail section, on the contrary, is convenient because there is additional space. On long flights, this can be a deciding factor, regardless of whether there is a toilet nearby.

The last rows at the very back of the plane are characterized in the same way as the central ones: there is an inconvenient partition, which makes it difficult to recline the seat, a toilet and a constant queue for it. The only plus, especially for those who are afraid of flying, is the statistical fact of survival in plane crashes (more than 60% of survivors sat here).

The remaining places are considered standard in terms of convenience and comfort.

The Boeing 777-300ER is one of the largest and most popular wide-body aircraft in the world. The Boeing's wingspan is 61 meters, comparable to the width of a football field.

The length of the aircraft itself is just over 63 meters. The height from the asphalt to the tip of the tail is 18.5 meters.

The Boeing 777-300ER can lift into the air a mass equal to a little more equal to itself.

This modification of the aircraft flies at a higher speed than its smaller relatives; the average cruising speed of the Boeing 777-300ER is 909 km/h, and the maximum is 965 km/h.

For comparison, 20-30 years ago only fighter and bomber combat aircraft flew at such speeds. Also, this modification of the Boeing 777-300ER has a significant flight ceiling; it can rise into the air to a height of 13,100 meters.

The possible maximum flight range of the Boeing 777-300ER (loaded) is: 10,110 kilometers, therefore this type of aircraft makes not only short-haul, but also long-haul flights.

The minimum crew for a Boeing 777-300ER flight is 2 people, a pilot and a co-pilot, which gives us the right to say that this aircraft is quite easy to fly and modern.

To make the maximum flight on a Boeing 777-300ER, the aircraft's tank must be filled with 181 tons of fuel.

All aircraft in the Boeing 777 series, including the Boeing 777-300ER, are equipped with 2 engines; this type of aircraft can operate even without the engines turned on, and continue flying on 1 engine if one of the engines fails.

These aircraft are purchased by well-known airlines, including:

  • Emirates (Emirates);
  • Turkish airlines;
  • North wind;
  • Aeroflot;
  • Nord Wind (Nord Wind).

Cheap flights online

Since the Boeing 777-300ER has a fairly large cabin size and can accommodate up to 550 passengers, the aircraft is equipped with many different amenities.

The design of Aeroflot's Boeing 777-300ER is made in the company's style, the greatest sophistication is presented in first class - these are always the best seats, a little worse, so to speak, in business class, the difference between them is not big, except for the size of the seats.

Boeing 777-300ER cabin layout

Rows 1 – 5 of business class are the most comfortable seats on the plane.

You can not only sit in them, but also lie down, like in a real bed.

All the advantages and delights of these seats can only be checked in flight; their price corresponds to their level, especially on long-haul flights.

Compared to other classes, there is a huge distance between seats of 160 centimeters, fresh press, a huge selection of menus and much more.

When choosing business class, it is better not to choose the DGHK 1st row seats, as they are located next to the toilet, and now you can’t hear any cufflinks, but the sound of soda being flushed is very strong and can wake you up or distract you.

In other airlines there is a thin partition between economy and business class, but this is not about Aeroflot; there is enough distance so that you don’t hear economy class, you can safely choose row 5.

6 – 11 row

This is a new class for flying at Aeroflot, called comfort, no longer economy, but not yet business; a good range of service levels can be compared to business.

The distance between the chairs is slightly smaller compared to a business, the chair can be reclined 120 - 130 degrees, you will also have the latest press at your disposal, each chair in front will have a personal screen where you can listen to music or watch movies.

In the comfort class, the last row is 11, separated from the economy class by a thin partition, so it is also better not to choose this row.

17 – 51 row

Economy class, the largest class on an airplane, has a standard distance of 81 centimeters between rows in most cases.

In economy class, you can recline the backrest to the standard 105-110 degrees; before booking tickets, you can order a special meal from Aeroflot, a very large selection of different meals that differ from the usual, but even if you didn’t order, the food at Aeroflot is good.

Economy Class Inflight Meals

17, 24 and 38 row

Seats in these rows can be classified as privileged, since, firstly, no one will be able to recline the backrests on you, secondly, you will be able to recline the backrests, and thirdly, you will have legroom as in business class.

These rows are the best in economy class– there is a lot of space, but there is a minus: they are located next to the toilets, since economy class is the largest class, there may be a crowd of people near your seats, some people do not like it when people stand over their souls, and the sound of the flushing may wake you up or distract you water from the toilet, due to the vacuum, it turns out to be highly resonant.

But despite all this, these are ideal places to sleep.

On some aircraft, in rows 23, 36, 37, 50, 51, the seat back may be blocked due to the fact that they are located near the toilet.

Also, in these rows people will walk more often because there is a toilet nearby, this is the same as the rows above, only the back of the chair does not recline, but in front of you reclines and besides, you do not have much distance for your legs, so the data It’s better not to choose rows.

Row 23 – similar

Note that the 23A and 23K do not have a full-fledged porthole.

A small window is placed on the emergency door. The display and table are located in the armrest.

It is prohibited to block the access to the emergency hatches with hand luggage.

Also, a certain group of passengers are prohibited from sitting in these seats: with animals, children, elderly people and disabled people.

If not for one significant advantage, one could call the data the most uncomfortable on board. But, due to the placement of the escape hatches, there will be plenty of legroom in front.

This is a significant advantage, especially on long, long-haul flights.

ABHK row 47 seats can also be considered privileged they are located in the rear of the plane, and they have a fairly large distance between the front seats, and their advantage is that they are located near it and they have one of the best views from the window.

All other seats in economy class are no different, but if you choose a seat among them, choose one next to the window if you are not afraid of flying, and if you are afraid, choose a seat right in the very middle, where it is easiest to fall asleep and forget about your fear or his completely lose.

Where are the best seats on Aeroflot's Boeing 777?

The best seats on an Aeroflot Boeing 77 and any other Boeing 777 are located in business or first class, and more seriously, it primarily depends on what you will do, sleep or do anything.

If you sleep, choose places with plenty of space and away from places where people with small children are usually accommodated.

General tips and tricks for choosing the best seats on the Boeing 777-300ER

On all Aeroflot Boeing 777 aircraft flying on long routes there is an individual 110-volt power outlet, as well as an individual display where you can insert your own flash drive with your own movie, and everyone also has headphones.

Also in Aeroflot, as in other companies, there is a restful sleep function; they will not wake you up when serving food, newspapers or drinks; for this you need to press a special button in the business class cabin, and in other cabins ask for a do not wake up sticker and stick it on the seat , and you can calmly become.

As for food, in all classes you can choose a special menu in advance (when purchasing a ticket) or choose the food that is already on board.

On such huge planes there is always a wide selection of food and drinks for all classes, not even talking about business.

When choosing a place, avoid places that are located near technical buildings, toilets, and kitchens.

The location of the seats in the Boeing 777-300ER - their disadvantages and advantages

  1. Most passengers always consider the window seats to be the best seats in any class. These places always have a good view, they are comfortable to sleep in and no one will ask you to go, but if you need to go out often, it is better not to choose them.
  2. If you need to get up often your choice is obvious - these are seats located along the aisles. It’s easy to get up, you don’t have to wake up anyone, and it’s just as easy to sit down. A small, but for lovers of sleep, a significant disadvantage of these places is that you may be asked to let you pass, or if you sit wide, passers-by may touch you or, even more unpleasantly, step on you.
  3. Well, if you don't care about the view, you can choose a seat in the middle of the central row, there, just like at the window, no one will disturb you and you will sleep peacefully.

The Boeing 777-200 is a twin-engine wide-body jet airliner capable of carrying up to 400 air passengers over a distance of more than 10,000 km. Like all modern aircraft, it was designed using computer programs. The 777-200 is considered the safest long-haul airliner.

The history of the airliner

The Boeing 777-200 is an aircraft specially created for longer flights in 1990. The airliner has been in operation since 1995. This is the first aircraft designed using the CATIA computer design program. The Boeing was pre-assembled on a computer. Thus, the designers avoided many design mistakes.

There are more than 7 modifications of the Boeing 777. However, the 200 version is considered the basic one. The first airliner was transferred to the American air carrier United Airlines. This model was designed for domestic flights. The plane could fly 9861 km without landing. Another 10 buyers received 88 aircraft of this modification. In 2010, 62 aircraft were in the fleets of various air carriers.

The 777-200 ER version appeared in 1997. This aircraft's maximum take-off weight was increased. The aircraft could fly 14,260 km without landing. The airliner was intended for long transcontinental flights. British Airways is the first airline to receive the new version of the aircraft. Until 2010, 415 airliners were sold to 33 air carriers.

In 2006, another model appeared - the Boeing 777-200 LR. The new airliner could cover a non-stop distance of 17,370 km. This version was intended for very long flights (Dallas - Tokyo, Los Angeles - Singapore). The aircraft's take-off weight has been increased, and 3 additional fuel tanks have been installed in the tail luggage compartment. The first buyer of the aircraft was Pakistan International Airlines. Until 2010, 45 such machines were manufactured.

Interior layout

The interior of the Boeing 777-200 is divided into two or three classes. The standard division assumes the presence on board of a business class (premium) and an economy class (tourist area). Some airlines provide VIP passengers with a separate compartment with an increased level of comfort. It is called first class or imperial class.

All seats are located next to each other. Separate blocks of seats are placed in several rows. Based on the cabin configuration, the airliner has from 43 to 62 rows. There can be from 4 to 10 seats in one line. The fewer seats in one row, the more prestigious the class. Seats in the airliner cabin are designated by Latin capital characters (A...L). Rows - numbers (1...43). Each seat has a folding table, seat belts, and a pocket for personal items.

Boeing 777-200 interior diagram

Boeing can accommodate a huge number of passengers. On a plane with two classes, their number is 400, and on a plane with three classes - 305 (301). Some cabins have only one class, the number of air passengers is 440. Each aircraft has its own configuration. You can find out the location of the seats on the airliner by first requesting a cabin layout from the air carrier.

Business Class

In the nose of the airliner there is a luxury compartment. The seats are located at a sufficient distance from each other. The distance between the seats in front is 1.27–1.5 m. Passengers can recline the back of their seat, lie down, and stretch their legs. Business class has from 6 to 16 seats. They are arranged in three rows of blocks in which two or three chairs stand next to each other. This area offers an improved (restaurant) menu and free drinks.

Comfort class

At the beginning of the airliner, immediately behind the cockpit, there is an area for VIP passengers. Number of seats - from 6 to 10. Seating arrangement in one row: 1-2-1, 2-2-2. The chairs in this area are large and comfortable, they resemble mini-sofas. A separate bathroom and kitchen are provided for air passengers.

Economy class

Most of the Boeing 777-200 cabin is dedicated to economy class. The seats are arranged in blocks: 3-4-3, 2-5-2, 3-3-3. There are two aisles between the three blocks of seats. The distance between adjacent seats is less than in business class (0.74 m). The seat backs do not recline, but tilt 45 degrees. The seats have armrests. You can watch movies during the flight. The board is equipped with a multimedia entertainment system. In the center and tail of the aircraft there are bathrooms and technical compartments.

How to choose good places?

On the Boeing 777-200, the best seats are in the VIP area or business class. There is less shaking, vibration and noise in the front part of the aircraft. The level of comfort in this area is very high. True, tickets for imperial or business class are more expensive than tickets for economy class. Passengers in the VIP zone can use Wi-Fi, there is a more varied menu, better quality drinks, and a larger display diagonal.

Economy class is divided into 2 parts. One of them is in the center, and the other is in the tail. Toilets are located at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the cabin. During the flight there is always a queue near them. The tail section may vibrate violently if the aircraft encounters turbulence. It is better not to take up space in this zone.

The best seats in economy class are considered to be those immediately after the business class partition.

There is less shaking in the bow of the plane, and flight attendants begin serving food from the head of the plane. There are emergency exits in the central and rear sections of the economy class cabin. The places near them are the most comfortable. There is more free space here. True, it is not advisable for passengers with children and pregnant women to occupy the seats near emergency exits. These places are intended for strong men, because in the event of an accident they will have to open the emergency doors themselves.

Where are the worst places?

On the Boeing 777-200, as on any other airliner, the worst seats are considered to be in the tail or near the toilets. A strong shaking is felt in the tail section during turbulence. There is always a queue near the toilets, this creates a lot of noise and does not allow passengers in the last rows to relax and fall asleep.

If a person is afraid of flying, he does not want to take window seats. It's better to sit closer to the aisle. If an airline passenger wants to sleep during the flight, he, on the contrary, needs to take a seat by the window. There he will be able to fall asleep and not get up from his seat if one of the passengers wants to go out, for example, to the toilet.

Place of production

The Boeing 777-200 has been produced by the American Boeing Corporation since 1994. Over 24 years, more than 1,500 airliners were manufactured. Even while working on the new aircraft project, the Boeing Corporation invited 8 major air carriers to cooperate. The new look of the airliner was formed taking into account the wishes of such airlines: Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, American Airlines, British Airways and others. Air carriers could offer their own design for a wide-body airliner.

The final assembly of the new aircraft took place in the American city of Everett. To accommodate the new production, the plant was doubled in size. 2 new assembly lines were put into operation. To create all the parts and mechanisms of the Boeing 777-200, a large number of subcontractors were involved.

Companies operating the liner

More than fifty aviation companies from around the world operate the 777-200. Among them:

  • Emirates (149);
  • United Airlines (74);
  • Cathay Pacific (69);
  • Air France (68);
  • Russia;
  • North wind;
  • Air India;
  • Alitalia;
  • British Airways;

A smaller number of these aircraft are available in the fleets of Russian and Ukrainian air carriers. The Russian aviation company Nordwind Airlines operates 6 777-200 ER airliners. The airline Lufthansa operates only 2 aircraft. Aeroflot, Russian Air Express, Vim Avia each have one Boeing 777-200.

Airplane cost

The new Boeing 777-200 ER costs $269 million. The 777-200 LR can be purchased for $305 million. A used aircraft can be purchased for $198 million.

Development prospects

Boeing Airlines has developed new versions of the airliner based on the 777-200 modification. In 1998, the 777-300 aircraft was released. It has an extended fuselage. The airliner can accommodate up to 550 air passengers on board. Another modification - 777-300 ER - has more powerful engines and can make non-stop flights over a distance of 14,690 km.

The Boeing 777 Freighter is a cargo airliner that can lift 103 tons of cargo into the sky. The plane covers 9047 km without landing. Boeing decided to convert some 777-200 passenger models into cargo aircraft.

Boeing 777 X is a new generation aircraft. The airliner is planned to be produced in 2020. The aircraft will receive new engines, due to which the take-off weight will increase to 315–344 tons. The plane will consume less fuel. The wing design will change and the aerodynamic qualities of the aircraft will improve.

When buying a plane ticket, we often worry about which seats we will get. Of course, if you have the opportunity to fly business class, it makes everything easier. The rest can only hope for the best. We'll show you all the best seats on the Boeing 777-200.

Boeing 777-200 designed for long-term non-stop flights up to 10,000 kilometers. It has an increased fuel capacity and a maximum capacity of about 400 people. This is not a new model. it has been produced since 1995.

  • Wingspan– 60.9 meters.
  • Length– 63.7 meters.
  • Height– 18.3 meters.
  • Cabin width– 5.86 meters.
  • Maximum flight altitude – 13.14 kilometers.

Russian airlines also use these machines. Unfortunately, they are far from new and have flown hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Each air carrier installs seats as it sees fit. We will look at the cabin layout using examples from two airlines: "Nord Wind" And Emirate s.

"Nord Wind"

This airline expects to accommodate 393 passengers in two classes - economy and business. However, there are only 6 seats in business class. They are located in row 1. The distance from the seat to the partition is 127 cm, the chairs have comfortable headrests, footrests and you can take a semi-reclining position.

The remaining seats are included in economy class. The distance between the backs of seats in one row is 74 cm, as stated on the airline’s website. They are located in three rows in the cabin. The central row consists of 4 seats, the side rows - of 3. Most passengers find this arrangement inconvenient. Great overcrowding, problems with going to the toilet.

The salon has 3 galleys at the front and one at the rear. There are several toilet rooms, mainly in the central and tail sections. There are a total of 8 exits on the plane, 4 on each side.

The most convenient places

There are no good places as such. You can count them as seats in front of the emergency exit or next to the partition in business class. You can sit on them more comfortably and stretch your legs. It will be more convenient for passengers with children. But even here, not everyone will like the proximity to the toilet.

Comfortable for those traveling together will be the seats in the rear of the cabin, where the fuselage narrows. There, three chairs turn into two. But the proximity to the toilet and the constant queue of people wanting to get into it does not add any romanticism to the flight.

It's convenient to sit next to the aisle so you don't have to ask anyone if you suddenly want to stretch your legs. But on the other hand, your neighbors will “walk” through you, and you will have to take time off from your business.

The most uncomfortable places

There are many more of them. The most uncomfortable places are those with their backs to emergency exits. Their backrests do not recline; you will have to spend the entire flight in a 90-degree position. If the flight is long, this can lead to problems with your back and legs. Also, the last seats with their backs to the partitions do not recline.

Passengers flying in other seats are in approximately the same position.

Emirates

This airline is considered one of the best in the world. She doesn't skimp on her passengers. However, the prices for the flights it operates are quite high. Emirates operates two seating schemes – 2-class and 3-class.

Salon with 2 classes

This includes economy and business class seats. In the bow there are 42 comfortable business-level seats. There is a large distance between them; you can recline the back and raise the footrest. This compartment has its own kitchen and its own toilet rooms. The chairs are in three rows. There are two chairs in the outer ones, and three in the central one. All this allows you to fly in much more pleasant conditions than ordinary passengers. However, a ticket to this part of the cabin costs much more.

The remaining 304 seats are occupied by economy class passengers. They also stand in three rows, but in a 3-4-3 pattern. The backrests here do not recline, but only come to a position of 45-50 degrees. The distance between the seats allows you to stretch your legs.

The layout is similar to the salon "Nord Wind" , but in Emirates there are 50 fewer seats, and this gives another +20-25 centimeters between the seats. There are several kitchens here, mostly in the tail. Toilets are located in the center of the salon.

The most comfortable chairs also located in front of the partitions, there is more legroom and it is possible to place a baby cradle. But some people, on the contrary, like to have a chair in front of them. After all, at the moment of descent it is convenient to hold on to it.

Inconvenient places near the toilets, with their backs to the partitions. The Emirates has a little headroom for reclining, but not as much as the others. Also, this airline does not have seats facing the emergency aisles. They are prohibited from tilting for safety reasons.

Salon with 3 classes

This aircraft has first, business and economy class seats.

In the bow there are 12 elite first class seats. You can't call them armchairs, they are mini-rooms with a bed. More like SV-compartment trains.

The central and rear sections of the cabin are occupied by 176 economy class seats. They are located in three rows. There are 4 chairs in the center, 3 at the portholes. In the middle and at the end of this compartment there are toilets, the kitchen is at the rear. We will not repeat ourselves about convenient and inconvenient places; they coincide with the conditions of the previous scheme.

Nowadays it’s very easy to choose comfortable seats in the cabin - use online check-in for your flight.

Pleasant flight!

Nordwind Airlines was founded in 2008. The owner is the tour operator Pegas Fly. Base location: Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow). Operates both charter and regular flights throughout Russia and to other countries. In 2017, 3,548,210 passengers were transported - this is the ninth place in Russia. The increase compared to the previous year was 98.4%. The average age of the fleet is 9.5 years.

Not all seats on an aircraft are equally comfortable, and each passenger has his own preferences when choosing. Therefore, when getting ready to travel, it is important to find out in advance how the seats on Nord Wind Airlines aircraft are arranged, which ones will be more comfortable, and which ones should be avoided if possible.

Nord Wind Airlines has the right to supply a flight with a different model than previously announced. In this case, the numbering of seats also gets confused.

Models and number of Nordwind airlines aircraft

Nord Wind has a fleet of 21 aircraft. 8 more have been ordered.* 4 aircraft are registered with Nordwind Airlines, however, they fly in the livery of the parent company Pegas Fly.

  • Airbus A321-200;
  • Airbus A330-200;
  • Boeing 737-800;
  • Boeing 737-900ER;
  • Boeing 767-300ER;
  • Boeing 777-200ER;
  • Boeing 777-300ER.

Airbus A321-200

The North Wind now has 8 of these. It has a layout for 220 economy class seats. Business and the first are absent. The stated legroom is 74 cm. Individual multimedia devices are not provided.

  • row 1. No one will be able to recline the seat back on the passenger sitting there - since there is simply no seat, a blank partition has been installed instead. Therefore, there is somewhere to put your knees, but you won’t be able to stretch your legs. It can be noisy due to the nearby galley and toilet. Smells and constant door slamming will not add comfort. But those are the ones. those flying in the first row receive food earlier than others - and, accordingly, have more choice (some foods and drinks do not reach the tail of the plane, since they are loaded on board in limited quantities.
  • seats F in rows 9 and 23. The backs in them do not recline. This is due to the location of the partitions immediately behind them. It will be uncomfortable to sit in this position for the entire flight, so these seats have a relatively low level of comfort.
  • rows 10 and 24(fully). The backrests are also locked in one position due to the need to provide sufficient distance for emergency exits. A consolation for passengers in seats D and E may be that there are two seats instead of three. If two people are flying together, then this is very convenient - they cannot be disturbed by a third person sitting next to them.
  • rows 11 and 25 are the most convenient. There are emergency exits near them, and therefore there is much more space for legs than in other places. You can comfortably recline and take a position close to lying down, without disturbing anyone. The table is not located on the back of the chair in front, but pulls out from the armrest. But it also has its drawbacks. Firstly, hand luggage can only be placed on the overhead bin, and never on the floor, due to the need for quick evacuation in case of an emergency. In addition, elderly people, passengers with disabilities, mentally ill, very overweight, people in a state of intoxication, as well as pregnant women and those traveling with children cannot sit at emergency exits, as they may have to push the door out - and this item weighs 35 kg, and help others leave the salon.
  • row 36, seats C and D(near the aisles). This is the penultimate row, so queues for the toilet will inevitably accumulate here. People may accidentally hit or push those sitting next to them.
  • row 37. Last. There is a partition behind it, so the backrests do not recline. There is also a toilet nearby - smells and sounds can be felt throughout the flight. And constant movement is also guaranteed. Therefore, the seats in this row are the least comfortable and should be avoided at all costs.

Other chairs have approximately the same level of comfort, so you should be guided by personal preferences - for example, someone likes to look out the window, while another person needs the ability to quickly get up (for example, to the restroom) without disturbing others.

Airbus A330-200

At first, only one such aircraft received the north wind (in July 2017). A little more than a year later, a second similar plane was taken. Year of manufacture - 2011. There are 279 seats - 24 in business class and 255 in economy class. The kitchen is located at the end of the salon, near the toilet and other service areas.

Airbus a330-200 economy class

  • Business Class. The seats are installed according to the 2+2+2 scheme. In front of each is a display, the controls of which are located on a wide armrest (including a table hidden in it). There is a lot of legroom. In addition, there are ample transformation possibilities - the seat can be folded almost horizontally.
  • Economy class. Armchairs from France. The upholstery is fabric. Arranged according to the 2+4+2 pattern. Each has a personal entertainment system with a small display and control buttons. There is a retractable footrest. The table can be reclined either just for drinks or completely.

Boeing 737-800

Nord Wind airline has seven Boeing 737 800 wings (the most modern at the moment). All of them had previously flown for other companies abroad. The average age is 7.1 years.* The Boeing 737 800 Wingle Nordwind has a single-class cabin layout, with 189 economy seats, the pitch between which is about 75 cm. Business class is not provided.

  • 1 row. The legs will rest against the partition, but there are no people sitting in front, so no one will be able to lean back on the passenger. On the other hand, not everyone likes to look at the wall during the flight. The tables are located in the armrests. Nearby there is a toilet and a kitchen.
  • 2nd row, seats D, E, F. There is a little more legroom there than in front;
  • 11th row, place A and 12th row. There are no portholes. For those who like to watch landscapes, these chairs are not suitable;
  • row 15. There are emergency exits here, so there is a lot of legroom. But hand luggage is prohibited from being placed on the floor (only on the shelf), tables are provided separately and, in addition, certain categories of passengers are prohibited from sitting there. The backrests do not recline - there is a second emergency exit at the rear;
  • row 16 similar, however, the backrest can be reclined;
  • row 32- the most undesirable for any passenger. The backrests in it are blocked due to the wall behind the back. There are also two toilets in the tail, so the sounds of slamming doors and the flush tank will disturb you throughout the flight. A line of people wanting to visit the restroom inevitably forms in the aisle.

Boeing 767-300ER

Nordwind has 4 of these middle-aged aircraft (the average age is almost 20 years). The total capacity is 304 passengers.

767-300 economy class

  • rows 1 and 2- Business Class. Legroom 127 cm;
  • row 3 rests against the partition, but there is a little more space than for other economy passengers;
  • row 16. There are toilets nearby, but there are only 2 pairs of chairs;
  • row 17 there is no need to choose. The backs rest against the toilet, it is impossible to recline them. Smells and sounds from the restroom are not the best accompaniment to a flight;
  • row 18. There is an emergency exit at the front (plenty of legroom), but also toilets;
  • row 19 close in characteristics to 18th;
  • row 39 worst. There are toilets in the back.

Boeing 777-200ER

Nord Wind currently has five such aircraft. The average age is 15.2 years. The layout is two-class.

  • 1 row- business class (6 seats, 2 in a row);
  • Economy class built according to a 3-4-3 scheme, it’s cramped inside;
  • in places 21H and 21K Plenty of legroom but close to restrooms. The same applies to row 45;
  • rows 39, 57 and 58 the worst. The toilets are behind them;
  • V rows 54-56 the outermost places (A, C and K, H) are installed in two;

Boeing 777-300ER

North Wind Airlines has two such aircraft in its fleet, with an average age of 12.9 years. The layout is three-class - 9 rows of business class (1+2+1), 8 rows of comfort class (2+4+2) and 24 rows of economy class (3+3+3). Total - 312 places.

Boeing 777-300er economy class

In the comfort class, the best seats are in row 20 - there is a little more legroom. in front of rows 46 and 50 in economy class there is an emergency exit, but also toilets. Rows 60, 70 and 71 are the least preferred (toilets, tail section), but the AC and KH seats are installed in twos, not three.

check-in

Unlike low-cost airlines, Nordwind Airlines does not force passengers to register on the website under the threat of huge fines. You can go through this procedure at the airport. Check-in begins at least 3 hours before and ends 40 minutes before scheduled departure.

Online registration

This opportunity was opened in October 2017. The conditions are as follows:

  • time before departure - maximum 24 hours, minimum 1 hour;
  • flights from the CIS, Russia, Antalya;
  • the passenger does not transport animals, weapons or cargo on the seat;
  • no additional services are required (accompanying a child who is flying without adults or a person with disabilities, etc.);
  • there are no prohibited items in your luggage or carry-on luggage.

For charter flights and “Promo” group fares (economy, business, comfort), you can check in online only at the same time as choosing a seat:

  1. Enter the passenger's last name, departure date, ticket number and flight number in the appropriate fields;
  2. Order additional services (if required);
  3. Receive your boarding pass electronically.

Only the paper version is suitable for planting. It is impossible to present it on the display of a mobile device. Therefore, you need to print the coupon in advance on any printer, or apply for this at the registration desk, where the required document will be issued free of charge.

Selecting a location

Since November 2017, on all Nordwind Airlines flights, you can choose which seat to travel on exclusively for a fee - and, regardless of how the passenger checks in - online or at the airport. The price depends on the class (economy or business), direction (domestic flight or international) and distance. You will have to pay a minimum of 300 rubles (economy class, a flight within the European or Asian part of Russia, a regular seat, that is, not the first row, not seats at the emergency exit and not 2-4 rows in economy) up to 120 US dollars or 75 euros (business -class, long-haul flight, premium seat).*

Even if a passenger has paid for a specific seat, the crew commander has the right to transfer him to any other due to safety requirements. In this case, the seat selection service is considered provided and no compensation is paid to the passenger.

Nordwind Airlines has modern and reliable aircraft. They were produced by Boeing and Airbus, recognized market leaders. All aircraft are well maintained and provide comfortable travel at high speed.

And although North Wind is not a low-cost airline, you will have to pay for the right to sit in a specific seat, as is customary with budget companies, even if the passenger has already shelled out tens of thousands of rubles for a business class flight.
