Entertainment for children in Phuket. Thailand, o. Phuket - “a useful and detailed tourist review about Phuket. holidays in Phuket with children. how not to get poisoned? tips and current prices in cafes, for massages, for fruits. about beaches, excursions and a lot of other information. ph

About our short Thai trip, I’ll tell you what interesting things we managed to visit. We chose only three excursions from Phuket: the Phuket FantaSea show, Coral Island and a group excursion around the island with a stop at a bee farm, Phuket Zoo, an orchid farm and the Big Buddha.

Near the ticket office for the FantaSea Show we are greeted by Thai women in national costumes and golden elephants

located on Kamala Beach. This is something! This is why you definitely need to visit FantaSea with your child. The ticket price also includes dinner at one of the largest buffet restaurants in the world - Golden Kinnari. The show includes elephants, flights over the auditorium, artists disappearing from the stage, and their unexpected appearance at the other end of the auditorium. It was incredibly interesting to watch all this. A three-year-old child sat at the FantaSea show for about two hours without moving! And he remembers this performance even two years later.

It’s a pity that taking photographs and filming videos at the show is strictly prohibited; at the entrance you must hand over all photo and video equipment to the storage room. For this reason, we only have photos of the surrounding park.

By the way, there is another similar show in Phuket - Siam Niramit. Until 2011, it was held only in Bangkok. The Siam Niramit show in Phuket, like the Fantasy show, includes an entertaining walk through the park, dinner in a restaurant and the grand performance itself.

The opinions of those who attended both shows are divided: some like FantaSea more, others prefer the Siam Niramit Phuket show. I think it's worth forming your own opinion. In general, there is plenty of entertainment for children in Phuket.

Excursion around Phuket takes the whole day. Therefore, if the child is small, he will have to sleep on the bus, but it was not stressful for us.

Entrance to Phuket Zoo

Zoo in Phuket We liked it, of course! There are elephant shows, monkey shows and crocodile shows inside, we went to them all. The child's favorite thing at the Phuket Zoo was the elephant show. The animals painted pictures, danced and played with their trainers.

Vanya likes elephants

The trainer risks his life for the sake of the show

Vanya was bored at the crocodile show, not appreciating the fact that the crocodile tamer was on the verge of life and death.

Vanya didn’t appreciate the crocodiles

The monkey show was partly funny, but it didn’t make much of an impression either.

The greatest joy for a child at the Phuket Zoo was feeding the elephants. There are a lot of them there, they also require a lot of food. The zoo cannot provide them with enough food, so tourists help as best they can. The thrifty ones bring food for the elephants with them, while the rest buy bunches of bananas on the spot, but at an inflated price. We bought it, and Vanya, at first with caution, and then with delight, fed the oldest elephant in the zoo. She is so old that her head is misshapen and bald.

The monkey and I found a common language

Bee farm turned out to be a weak commercial excursion. They offered to try it, buy honey, royal jelly, some kind of jam and related souvenirs. We walked around the park and found statues of giant bees, with which Vanya was afraid to take pictures.

Big Buddha. Vanya remembers this character quite often, and for some reason in the feminine gender: “Big Buddha.”

Big Buddha can be seen from afar

In the temple at the foot of the statue you can tie a bauble to the monk and make a wish. According to legend, when the bandage on your hand comes undone and gets lost, your wish will come true. The temple is still being built, mainly through donations. You can also contribute to this long-term construction: buy a marble tablet, a souvenir, or simply donate money. By the way, you can write your wish on a board that will later be used in construction.

The ascent to the statue is a long staircase with bells hanging on the sides. Whenever the wind blows, they ring, very beautifully and melodiously. They say that many monkeys live on these stairs and take food and water from tourists. Unfortunately, we didn’t find them that day.

Next to the Big Buddha there is also a smaller Golden Buddha.

Golden Buddha stands next to Big Buddha

Excursion to Coral Island (Hay Island) from Phuket. We chose this island because it’s a short swim to it - only 20-30 minutes. Of course, we wanted to go to Phi Phi, the James Bond Islands, the Similan Islands... But we decided that three-year-old Vanya might not be able to withstand such long boat trips.

Coral Island turned out to be magnificent too! Snow-white sand, wonderful snorkeling, dizzying views!

Baby relaxing

We spent the whole day there, and we wanted more... What sand there is! And near the water there is a strip with such fragments of shells and corals.

Fragments of shells and corals

The excursion to Coral Island was the last one. After that, we completely relaxed, just swam, sunbathed, and went to the night and day markets. We bought all sorts of things, for example, funny watches “on Android” and even funnier flip-flops.

To plan a vacation with children in Phuket, it is not at all necessary to sit all day on the Internet, studying the island in detail and reading reviews. Instead, you can take a look at our general recommendations and choose the places that are right for you.

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and one of the most popular tourist destinations. Here you can find entertainment for every taste, including for families with small children. Most of them are located near tourist areas such as Patong, Karon, Kata and others, which will save you and your children from long, tiring journeys.

The attractions of Phuket that we recommend for families with children to visit include:

  • a butterfly garden, a bird park and a botanical garden, which is located in the center of the island, in the Chalong area;
  • an aquarium located in the north of the island, near Panwa beach;
  • 3D Museum in Phuket Town;
  • Phuket Fanta Sea show, located near Kamala Beach.

In our opinion, the best area for a holiday with a child is the Nai Harn beach area. Tranquility, good hotels and a magnificent beach with a gentle slope, ideal for swimming babies - these are the reasons why you should pay attention to this option.

Somehow it happened that lately I have been actively involved in organizing frequenttours around the island. By the way, I’m still working on it, if you have anything, write me. But that's not what this is about. There have been many requests for holidays with children. Therefore, from time to time I had to rack my brains about what was interesting to show, how to do it better, and what children generally liked. Of course, I didn’t rack my brains on my own, but together with my parents. We discussed by mail, during personal meetings and during discussions, the same picture of interests emerged.

And the other day, quite by chance, I heard a speech from a mother who, either with a friend or with her mother, was discussing what she should watch with her children. I will again omit the details of where I heard this and how it happened. But after this conversation, I had a clear opinion that neither vacationers nor most guides have a clear idea of how to more correctly spend a vacation with children on the island and what to show them.

Well, if there is a demand, then you need to write about it. Moreover, there is experience and some developments.
I immediately checked the availability of reviews on the network, but I didn’t find anything sensible. Some in the reviews sent their children to the museum, others to a monkey farm, which is not here at all. And someone suggested going to...

The island of Phuket cannot be described in one word - its resorts are too heterogeneous. Nightlife is vibrant in Patong, crowds of sightseers and shopping enthusiasts flock to Phuket City, families with children relax on Kamala and Nai Yang beaches, and windsurfers glide through the waves on Karon Beach. All vacationers look for and find something of their own here.

On the other hand, choosing a place for a family vacation so as not to move is also not easy. From a good beach in the south you will want to go to a water park in the north, from a quiet town in the west to noisy and unusual Phuket City in the east. Attractions and activities are scattered throughout Phuket's resorts, so get ready to travel around the island.

You will learn about the right time to travel, the main entertainment, and the best resorts in our article about holidays with children in Phuket.

Phuket on the map of Thailand

Phuket is the largest island of Thailand, located off the southwestern coast of the country and washed by the waters of the Andaman Sea of the Indian Ocean. Phuket City, or Phuket City, is the capital of the island, but by no means the center of resort life. The main resorts of Phuket are concentrated on the west coast.

It is not difficult to find on the map where Phuket is located: a huge island, as if by strings, connected by bridges to the mainland of Thailand. This is the southernmost resort region of the country: only the province of Krabi is located nearby, and the rest of the tourist cities are located hundreds of kilometers to the north.

Vacation with children

What would your ultimate dream look like? For example, like this: in winter, when the frosts are severe, come to Phuket with children - and there it is summer, there are white beaches, a clear sea and fresh fruits with unusual names. Yes, I would like to make such a dream come true, especially since a trip to Phuket should be planned for winter. Beach holidays are at the forefront of the island resort.

Endless sandy beaches with a gentle entry into the water, a warm sea, palm trees along the shore - a holiday in Phuket is reminiscent of that same “heavenly pleasure”. It is considered good practice to visit all the local beaches and find the best one.

Moreover, the concept of “relaxing with a child” on this island includes not only sunbathing and swimming in the almost hot sea. Phuket has a huge amount of entertainment for children - a wonderful water park, an elephant palace, and unusual museums. We are ready to guarantee that your child will take the largest number of selfies in the museum (if you visit the gallery of optical illusions).

Another plus of Phuket is its hotels. Many of them are aimed at families with children. If you are coming with an infant, a baby cot will be prepared in the room. If you come with an older child, he will be able to spend time in the mini-club, on the playground, in the children's room.

At the same time, a holiday in Phuket is considered very expensive - for example, in comparison with Pattaya. However, upon closer examination, it turns out that there are equal numbers of expensive and budget hotels and restaurants, and the quality of service is almost independent of price.

When is the best time to go?

When is the best time to go to Phuket? The answer will please those who do not like snowy, cold winters. In winter, Phuket is warm and sunny, and there is practically no rain.

If you want to escape from the snow and frost to the land of eternal summer, to beaches with white sand and warm sea, then the island is the best place for this.

From November to April, the water and air temperatures here are the same as in summer, but there is no rain or wind, the sea is clean and calm, and the stuffiness is almost not felt. It must be said that the high season in Phuket is not only suitable for lounging on the beach.

This is a great time for excursions, trips into the jungle, and trips to small islands. In addition, several bright holidays occur at this time.

In November, Phuket hosts the Loy Krathong Festival of Lights and a boating festival, in December there is a sailing regatta for the King's Cup, in April the Thais celebrate the New Year, and in April there is a turtle release festival. The events are colorful, festive, and usually special entertainment awaits children during the holidays.

Note that the opening of the season in Phuket is almost Housing prices double. To avoid overpaying, we recommend booking a hotel room or apartment in advance.

Weather and climate

To begin with, a fact that will warm the soul of all lovers of hot summers: the average annual temperature in Phuket is +28°C. This means that during the day the air warms up to +31-33°C, and at night it cools down to +23-25°C. Moreover, this temperature remains on the island both in July and January.

But here's what else you need to know about Phuket's climate: there are distinct dry and wet seasons. Heavy rains begin in May and last until October. From November to April there are also rains, but they are short and do not interfere with rest. It is for this reason that the best holiday in Phuket with children is in winter, when nothing disrupts tourists’ plans.

Although the air temperature in Phuket does not change throughout the year, it is felt differently due to changes in air humidity. The lowest humidity is in winter, so it is good to come to Phuket with a baby from December to March. In spring, the humidity increases and the heat becomes more intense.

The holiday season on the island begins in November. Although it rains quite often this month, you can safely plan a vacation in Phuket for this time: after a half-hour downpour, the sun comes out, and not a trace of the bad weather remains.

Already in December, the amount of precipitation is noticeably reduced, and from January to April the weather is mostly sunny - you can’t imagine better conditions for a beach holiday with a child.

Sea water temperature

The water temperature in Phuket does not change all year round, fluctuating between +27°C and +29°C. It seems that under such conditions you can swim all year round. But it is not so.

  1. During the rainy season the sea is rough. Due to the wind, waves rise 2-3 meters high, which can only please windsurfers.
  2. From May to October, dangerous underwater currents occur off the coast of Phuket. A red flag on the beach is a sign that swimming is not allowed due to strong currents.
  3. Rains make the sea water cloudy, and the waves throw armfuls of algae ashore. Although the beaches are cleaned several times a day at this time, you don’t really want to swim in the muddy sea.

And yet there are places on the island where you can swim in the summer. On the northern and southern ends of the west coast (Nai Yang, Nai Harn beaches) and on the east coast (Cape Panwa) There is almost no wind or storm, and the water remains clean.

But the best time, of course, is to swim in winter and the first half of spring. The sea temperature at this time is such that you don’t want to get out of the water. You just need to take into account the tide schedule, since during low tide the sea in Phuket goes far from the coast. It is most convenient to relax at those resorts where the tide falls at night, for example, on the beaches of Kata, Nai Yang, Bang Tao.

Nutrition

Typically, hotels in Phuket offer only breakfast, most often as a buffet. This is convenient if you are vacationing with a child who has already switched to adult food. Since hotels serve mainly European cuisine, your child will not encounter unfamiliar food.

Many family hotels offer children's menus. But since the common table usually contains cereals, porridges, omelettes, soups, steamed vegetables and fresh fruits, this is not a very important option.

There are also hotels in Phuket where you can eat in a restaurant and cook yourself. Usually in this case there is a supermarket or food market nearby.

You can also eat outside hotels with children. Since Phuket is visited by many foreigners, the service sector is adapted to the preferences of Europeans. This also applies to food - many restaurants offer an excellent selection of European dishes, so you won’t have to treat your child to exotic food against his wishes. But Thai cuisine, if you ask the chef not to season it with traditional spices, is quite suitable for a child.

Transport

Few people want to stay in a hotel in Phuket: it’s a pity to miss the chance to ride elephants, go to the jungle or frolic in a water park. Since interesting places are scattered throughout the island, you will have to resort to public transport in Phuket or rent a car.

City buses run around the capital of the island. They look unusual: pink mini-trucks with benches for passengers. They have neither a schedule nor designated stops - if you see a bus on the road, just wave your hand at it. Traveling around Phuket City costs 15 TNV, the same amount you need to pay for tickets for children. City buses finish at 19:00.

To travel to remote beaches, you can use blue songthaews - pickup trucks with two benches for passengers. This type of transport in Phuket cannot be called comfortable: it does not have a schedule, the driver will not move until the car is full, traffic ends at 18:00, and on weekends the songthaews may stop working by lunchtime. Travel to intercity songthaews depends on the distance and costs 40-60 TNV.

Comfortable white and green buses run between Phuket City and Patong. They have a clear schedule: every hour from 7:00 to 18:00.

Taxi in Phuket is an expensive form of transport. Taxi drivers set fares themselves and do not hesitate to inflate them if you need to get to the hotel from a distant beach, and songthaews no longer operate. For a 10-kilometer trip (for example, from Patong to Karon), taxi drivers ask for up to 800 TNV, but persistent bargaining will reduce this price by at least half.

Since public transport on the island does not work very well, the best way to get around Phuket is to rent a car - then you can visit all the beaches, all the attractions and not worry about the distance of shops and markets.

There are international and local car rental companies on the island; Some of them speak Russian. Important: parking in the wrong place will result in a heavy fine.

Holidays in Phuket with children are easy and safe, since right on the island you can find all the necessary children's accessories, including baby food and toys. If necessary, you can buy medicine or consult a professional doctor - there are pharmacy kiosks and clinics near each beach. Add to this a well-developed road network and a wide choice of transport.

  • Ecology

Industrial activity on the island stopped in the middle of the last century. Nature has fully recovered both at sea and on land. Lots of greenery, clean air. There are several parks with asphalt paths. They are convenient for walking with strollers. Most noise and cars in . But there is absolutely no need to go there.

  • Entertainment

You won't have any problems choosing where to spend your time. You can go to and, go boating, watch the life of underwater inhabitants in. Or take part in various shows. For example, visiting an amusement park.

  • Minuses

    • Prices

At the peak of the tourist season, prices in Phuket are steep (read about prices, weather and beaches). They are higher than in Bangkok or Pattaya. But significantly lower than during the winter holidays in both capitals of Russia - St. Petersburg and Moscow.

    • Swimming season

From May to November, the swimming season in Phuket practically stops. It's all about frequent storms that disperse high waves. All beaches have signs prohibiting entry into the water. Naturally, various water attractions - jet skis, banana boats and other beach activities are excluded from the program.

The best beaches in Phuket for families with children

Only the western coast of Phuket is accessible for recreation, but there are also quite a few places where the rocks approach the water itself. Between them there are strips of sand with convenient entry into the sea, around which the entire tourist infrastructure is concentrated. Now we will briefly describe the most famous of them, and you can decide for yourself which ones fit the definition of “for holidays with children”, based on your own preferences.

    - here is the answer to the popular question: “Where to go with children in Phuket?” Divided into five thematic zones - Asia, America, Antarctica, Africa, Ancient World. On an area of 22 thousand square meters. meters there are more than fifteen attractions of varying extremes.
