Gorki Gorod is one of three modern ski resorts in Krasnaya Polyana. The other two resorts are Rosa Khutor and Gazprom. The most popular is the Rosa Khutor resort, but the resort owes its popularity to its marketing program. All three resorts have developed infrastructure, a network of cable cars, many ski slopes on the slopes, hotels, restaurants and shops. But you can ride on the cable cars of the Gorki Gorod resort all day and still won’t have enough time to see all the sights. We will introduce you to the sights of the Gorki Gorod ski resort, tell you where it is better to stay at the resort, what kind of entertainment and infrastructure there is.

How to get to the Gorki Gorod resort

You can get to the Gorki Gorod resort by personal transport and public transport. We will not traditionally consider personal transport; we will focus on other options:

• High-speed train "Swallow". This is the fastest way to get to the ski resort. The train begins its journey in Sochi, passes through Adler and takes you along the Mzymta River gorge into the mountains to the ski resorts of Greater Sochi. The stops along the route are as follows:
  Sochi - Matsesta - Khosta - Adler - Esto-Sadok - Rosa Khutor. Average travel time is 1 hour 20 minutes. The cost of a ticket for the Lastochka train is from 355 rubles. Train schedule Sochi-Rosa Khutor.
• Bus. There is a bus from Sochi from the Seamall stop and from Adler from the Railway Station stop to Rosa Khutor No. 105 and 105c. Ticket price 232 rubles. Travel time will be from 2 to 3 hours, depending on whether you take the fast bus 105s or regular 105 . Bus No. 105 makes 10-15 more stops than bus No. 105c.
• Taxi. A taxi from Sochi or Adler to Gorka Gorod will cost from 1000 rubles, but if you wait for fellow travelers, you will only have to pay for one seat from 250-400 rubles per person. This is comparable to the price of an electric train, and the travel time also corresponds to Lastochka. So do not neglect the services of local taxi drivers.

Infrastructure of Gorki Gorod

"Gorki Gorod" is a small modern village in the mountains. Its infrastructure is developed no worse than that of European resorts. There are small shops and entire supermarkets, a lot of entertainment from a cinema to bicycle and ATV rentals.

If you book accommodation on the second stage of the cable car, such offers are available in Gorki Gorod (Upper City +960 m) and in Rosa Khutor (Rosa Plateau 1170 m), you will not have to pay for the lift each time. All guests of high-altitude hotels are issued passes for the cable car. You will make the first ascent using your hotel reservation, and then at the hotel you will receive a subscription for the daily descent and ascent. If you want to go to the very top, in this case you will have to buy a full walking ticket.

Hotels

The number of rooms at the ski resort is huge. You can verify this by looking offers from Booking. The most common accommodation option in Gorki Gorod is apartments. This settlement option is good for several reasons. Firstly, there are really a lot of buildings with apartments, they are divided into sectors: Green, Blue, Red and Yellow. Secondly, apartments differ from hotel rooms in the presence of a full kitchen, where you can prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner from products purchased at the local supermarket and significantly save on going to restaurants. The hotels are located both on the first level (540 meters) and on the second (960 meters).

Entertainment at Gorki Gorod

With the winter seasons, everything is more or less clear; skiers and snowboarders can spend whole days skiing on the modern slopes of the ski resort. What to do at the resort if you come here in the summer? You won't be bored at Gorki Gorod.

The center of the Gorki Gorod resort is the shopping and entertainment center Gorki Gorod Mall. There is a 4-hall cinema "Starcinema". The repertoire and show times can be viewed at official website of the cinema. The second main attraction of the Gorki Gorod Mall shopping center is the water park. The water park is located on the upper level of the center. The cost of a child ticket is 800 rubles, an adult ticket is 1300. On weekends and holidays, fares increase. The grocery segment in the shopping center is represented by the Perekrestok brand, the hypermarket is located on the ground floor. In addition to everything that can usually be found in shopping centers that you need, Gorki Gorod Mall has a pharmacy and several ATMs: Sberbank, VTB 24, Raiffeisen Bank. Cellular communications in the shopping and entertainment center are provided by Svyaznoy and Euroset branches. Sportswear and sports accessories can be purchased in stores such as Sportmaster, Kant and some others located in the Gorki Gorod Mall.

There is a Sochi Casino in Gorki Gorod. The casino in Gorki Gorod can be visited by anyone over the age of eighteen. This became possible due to the fact that Krasnaya Polyana is one of the gaming zones in Russia.

The main attraction of Gorki Gorod is the Gornaya Karusel cable car. A cascade of lifts will gradually lift you to an altitude of 960 meters above sea level to the “Upper City”, then 1460 meters and finally to an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. At the top, there are two more cable cars operating in excursion mode, which will gradually take you to the foot of the Black Pyramid rock. The height of the Black Pyramid peak is 2375 meters.

Entertainment in the Upper Town

The main entertainment at the Upper Town level is the mountain bike trails. The Gorki Bike Park is located here. You can rent a bicycle right here at the resort, and you can use the cable car an unlimited number of times. Cycling trails range in difficulty, from easy to difficult. In addition to the Bike Park, there is a Husky Center, where you can take an excursion, and in winter even go dog sledding.

Ecological routes

Ecological routes in Gorki Gorod are a special pleasure. Walking through a real forest and admiring the amazing panoramas of the mountains, what could be better? You can do this all day long, and don’t forget that walking is good for your health.

There are several ecological routes on the slopes. The most popular route among tourists is the Polikarya Falls route. It is located at an altitude of 1450 meters. The K13 lift takes you as close as possible to a height of 1370 meters.

From here you will have to go up another 80 meters.

The journey will take about 30 minutes. Do not forget that in the midst of summer the intensity of the water flow decreases greatly, leaving only a small stream, since the main flow of water is formed by melting snow. At an altitude of 1460 meters there is an eco-trail “Relic Forest” and a rope park. At an altitude of 2200 m, several more eco-trails are available: “Alpine Meadows” and “Bear Waterfall”. The Bear waterfall is visible from the K4 ski lift, so you can independently assess whether it is worth going down to it or not.

Another route is climbing the Black Pyramid. Climbing requires some skill, insurance, and the watchful eye of an instructor. Everything except the first one will be provided to you at the upper station of the K5 cable car. This is the only one of the Gorki Gorod ecological routes that is paid separately.

Meals at the Gorki Gorod resort

The resort offers a variety of cuisines from restaurants to canteens. There are restaurants in every hotel and throughout the resort; the average bill in a restaurant is 1500-2000 rubles per person. There is a cheaper segment - a cafe, here the average bill will be 600-1000 rubles. There are several canteens in the area such as “Chalet” and “Friends”, the check will be 200-400 rubles per person. At the food court of the Gorki Gorod Mall, in addition to local entrepreneurs, one of the fast food chains, the KFC restaurant, is represented. Also in the shopping center there are coffee shops Cinnabon, Surf Coffee and others.

Apartments at the Gorki Gorod resort: when it’s nice to save

In my article, I already wrote that one of the advantages of the Gorki Gorod resort over Rosa Khutor is availability of a huge number of apartments . And not just any economy rooms without meals, but really nice big apartments in the center of the resort, a stone's throw from the cable car.

Tourists choose apartments at the all-season resort "Gorki Gorod" for various reasons. This and the proximity to the cable car and rental points, a shopping complex, a cinema and a water park will also be a stone's throw away. This includes a bunch of different cafes and restaurants right in the apartment buildings, because all the first floors of the buildings are just such establishments. But from the second floor and above there are apartments.

In principle, I have already seen what these apartments are like. But it’s one thing to look, and quite another thing to live in such rooms. Because this is the only way to evaluate all their pros and cons.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that there are almost no downsides. But here, as always, we need a golden mean between price and quality. But with this in the apart-hotel Gorki Gorod, everything is sooooo amazing! However, read on.

How to book

Book a room in apart-hotel Gorki Gorod only possible through the website tour operator "Biblio-Globus". The nice girl at the reception said that this operator had bought the ENTIRE room stock of the apart-hotel, and even if she wanted to, she would not be able to sell the room to us at the reception desk. Well, we didn't insist. We went to the “biblik” website and five minutes later we were the happy owners of a confirmed reservation for a one-bedroom apartment.

We approached the counter again, with our passports, and they began to find a free room for us. Yes, you cannot book a specific room. You can only indicate in the notes to the armor what kind of body you would like or some other parameters that are important to you. We will TRY to take your wishes into account whenever possible.

Another important point - upon check-in you will be asked 5000 rubles as deposit. Or a security deposit in the amount of 5,000 rubles per apartment will be blocked on your bank card for the entire period of your stay. After checking the number, the blocking will be removed. But in Depending on the issuing bank of your card, the unlocking time can vary from 1 to 30 days! Therefore, it is better to deposit money in cash. That's what we did.

By the way, I also liked the atmosphere at the reception. Cozy waiting furniture is more reminiscent of an expensive hotel than an economical apartment:

According to the general rules, check-in begins after 14:00, and you must vacate your room on the day of the tour before 12:00. But I advise you to come a little earlier - by 12 o’clock there will be a lot of tourists checking out at the reception, and they will all get their deposit back, and this takes a certain amount of time...

Let's go to the rooms!

So, we received the keys to our apartments, we are going to move into them. We got an apartment in Building 33, on the 4th floor.

There are a lot of buildings. And if you look at this diagram of the resort, you can figure out in advance which building to ask for when checking into the apartment:

We booked A one-bedroom apartments with an area of ​​45 meters. Bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom (in our case, two bathrooms) - this is essentially the two-room apartment we got. Capacity - up to three people. A third person can be accommodated on a fold-out sofa or a Euro folding bed.

On the resort website Gorki City We have already read the following information about the rooms:

In the room:

Not bad, right? I lived in apartments in France and Turkey, Greece and Vietnam. And I can safely say that the apartments at the Gorki Gorod resort are very decent compared to many that I have seen.

This is what your kitchen will look like:

Here you can easily cook everything that your children or you yourself are used to eating - an electric stove, a set of knives, a pot and a frying pan are at your disposal. What you prepare in the evening can be heated in the microwave in the morning, and a spacious refrigerator will allow you to store a supply of food for a whole week. Washing the dishes won’t be a problem either: we put everything in the dishwasher and went for a ride up the mountain.

Two bathrooms will allow you to quickly get ready in the morning without interfering with each other:

Although the beds in the bedrooms are single, the mattresses are very comfortable - you sleep great!

There are two types of pillows - larger and smaller. Which is a huge plus for me personally - I like to sleep on small pillows, but it’s convenient to read before bed, propped up with a large one. The wardrobe in the bedrooms is quite spacious - the contents of your suitcase can fit in it without any problems.

Next about the living room. I was satisfied with everything in it - the upholstered furniture is moderately hard, so as not to sink in headlong ;-), a coffee table on which it is convenient to lay out a laptop or any kind of food while watching TV. The colors of the furniture and curtains are dull, muted, and in general the style of the apartments is closer to minimalism.

Living room in one bedroom apartment

Maybe the decor will seem modest to some, but I would be very happy with such minimalism in my own apartment - I don’t like it when the interior is overloaded with details...

In general, we enjoyed living in the comfortable one-bedroom Gorki Gorod apartments so much that we decided to extend the pleasure and book another night in them. But for this night only two bedroom apartments . And we decided - you can’t stop living beautifully, we’ll spend the night like a queen! As you understand from the video, we were very lucky: we booked these apartments for ridiculous money!

Again the same procedure at the reception: making a deposit, receiving a key... And here we are again in a cozy living room, sitting drinking southern wine and having dinner with a salad from the nearest Perekrestok hypermarket (since the entrance to it is right opposite the entrance to our apartments, this time we got building 7, 2nd floor)

Well, what else can I tell you about staying in apartments at the Gorki Gorod resort? I can add the following touches to the overall idyllic picture:

• In the morning, it’s convenient to leave the apartment on the street and go for a run along the embankment;
• There is no washing machine in the apartments; but there is a laundry service, where washing will cost you from 150 rubles;
• Here and there there are small “jambs” in the form of falling tiles or traces of children’s art on the wallpaper;
• The sound insulation is very good, you won’t hear noise from the road or the river with the windows closed;
• using the keys to your apartment you can go to the cable car and climb to level +960 of the Gorki Gorod resort, and an unlimited number of times;
• using the same keys you can visit Sochi Casino Resort without making a deposit;
• if you come to Gorki Gorod by car, you will be provided with parking for your car, although not for free - for 250 rubles per day;
• When you go to bed, it will be pleasant to stroll through the large, well-kept area around the apartment.
