Due to my duty, I periodically have to fly to Belgium. Now it’s a pleasure for me to be there! Although, to be honest, I did not develop this attitude towards business trips right away. Looking back at the experience of my first trip to the wonderful city of Antwerp, I just chuckle - and I’m unlikely to tell my friends and acquaintances about my adventures (or, rather, misadventures) that time. And all because, to my shame, I was very worried before the flight, and did not bother to plan my movements beyond landing at the airport. I am sharing my personal experience so that you do not get into trouble, as it once happened to me. Here we go?)

From which airports do you fly to Antwerp?

What makes the city wonderful, and what makes it remarkable, in addition to its cultural and historical values, is the airport located on its territory. This is the easiest option - to land at the Antwerp Airport of the same name as the city, and then travel by land to your final destination.

Option two is Brussels airport, from which I personally have the opportunity to travel more often. It is located approximately 40 kilometers from Antwerp, as the name suggests, in the capital of Belgium. I don’t even know which of these two cities I liked more. Unfortunately, being on a business trip often involves a busy schedule, but when I have a free minute, I’m just happy to have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area :) But let’s get back to the route. and connected by railway. In addition, there is also a bus service between them.

Another Brussels airport, also known as Charleroi Brussels South (just under 90 km from Antwerp), is located relatively accessible.

From the airport called Schiphol in Amsterdam, as I recently discovered, it is also possible to get to Antwerp. I tell you in detail below.

Airports - what do you need to know about them?

Hotels- don’t forget to check prices from booking sites! Don't overpay. This !

Rent a Car- also an aggregation of prices from all rental companies, all in one place, let's go!

How to get from the airport to Casablanca.

Greetings! I can’t say that I’m an experienced traveler;) But I remember when I was planning to visit the beautiful city of Casablanca, flattered by the abundance of beautiful architecture, I was puzzled by similar questions. Well, I’ll share my experience so that there are no problems :)

At first it may seem that getting from the airport to the city will not be difficult; jump into a taxi and there are no problems. But those who, like me, do not have great financial resources for travel, will be interested in this article.

Let's start with the fact that many maps still mistakenly mark Anfa Airport as a working airport, while it was closed back in 2007, and in 2008 it was transferred to a training airfield. Mohamed V Airport is the closest at the moment, well, if you consider 30 km from the city as low beam, depending on who you want;) However, naturally, I decided to get there from it rather than from airports in neighboring cities. By the way, all flights have long been possible to organize through, at least I really liked it. The trip from the airport to the city is like an Arabian fairy tale :) What did I use to get there?

By car

I found a couple of car rental services, but I recommend. Well, I’m really not joking about the Arabian fairy tale. The road from the airport to the city runs through the Bouskoura forest, where part of the golf course is located. I won’t hide it - this is a cool place :)

I loved and will continue to love it on my own, renting a car to get where I need to go. Very often it turns out that when I go somewhere, I will definitely go somewhere unplanned, have a blast at the coast, mountains, or just be interested in some interesting creature, and on this trip, the alluring beauty of the open spaces. Here even 30 km will not be enough to enjoy it. So if you are at least a little sentimental and pay attention to such little things, then get to Casablanca through another airport;)

From Bologna to Milan there is again a smooth section of road. After Milan you need to take the A4 highway and before reaching Turin, turn onto the A5 towards Aosta. This is where the fun begins, again mountains and again tunnels.

The toll road in Italy ends in Aosta, the next payment must be made for travel in the Monte Bianco Tunnel (Mont Blanc). As I wrote above, you can go around it through the mountains, increasing the route by 30 km, since travel through the tunnel is quite expensive. This tunnel is the hallmark of the Alps; it passes under the highest mountain, Mont Blanc.

In France, a toll road is starting again, a sign at the entrance warns about this. After the tunnel, the A40 road leads to Geneva. Euros are not accepted everywhere in Switzerland, so it is better to exchange a small amount of money at the slightest opportunity.

Fare payment

A trip to Geneva by car is not cheap; you will have to pay about 60 euros to travel through Italy, then another 44 euros to travel through the tunnel. In France, travel costs about 22 euros.

By train

Trains in Europe are a budget and fast way to travel between cities; you must agree that trains rarely travel 900 km in 7-9 hours.

From Rome to Geneva, trains depart 4 times a day, but the schedule varies slightly, so the trip takes 7-9 hours during the day and 12-14 on night trains. Only you won’t be able to get there without a transfer; there is either one transfer in Milan, or two – Bologna and Milan.

High-speed trains Frecci and Eurocity travel along this route; you can read about their features.

Comfortable trains and convenient schedules allow you to quickly get to Geneva.

Buying tickets

The earlier you buy tickets, the cheaper they will be; the cheapest option is traveling on night trains, but it is inconvenient. You can view the schedule and ticket prices on the Trenitalia website. You can buy tickets on the same website and in terminals at the station.

Fare

Tickets cost from 52 euros on a night train and from 70 euros on daytime flights. If you buy a ticket a week before departure you will have to pay about 150 euros.

By plane

It would even be strange if there were no direct flights between these two cities. The flight schedule can be found on the Fiumicino Airport website, or here. Flights are operated by several airlines (EasyJet, Alitalia, Swiss International Air Lines, Vueling Airlines), so ticket prices may vary greatly.

The schedule depends on the day of the week, but you can fly on any day. Flight time is 1 hour 40 minutes. Remember that in Europe the rules for packing luggage are somewhat stricter than here, especially when it comes to liquids.

Where can I buy a ticket

Tickets are sold on the websites of the above companies, but in my opinion, the easiest way to do this is to look through all possible airlines and choose the lowest price for the flight.

Fare

The price of a ticket varies widely, depending on the airline and the date of departure. The cheapest tickets are offered by Vueling Airlines, prices start from 30 euros, but the ticket must be purchased several months before the trip and the price does not include luggage transportation.

Other companies also provide pleasant conditions, don’t be lazy about the prices.

Conclusion

European prices for air tickets are enviable; I don’t take a lot of things with me and 7 kg of hand luggage is quite enough. Even if you fly with luggage, a pre-planned trip will not hurt your pocket. But if you are on a limited budget and have a trip planned no more than a month in advance, I advise you to consider the option of traveling by train.

There are no other travel options on this route. A bus trip includes several transfers, and the travel time is about a day.
